Blog – On the quality of dev porn

We’re a sad bunch, us devotees, aren’t we? I tried hard, but I couldn’t come up with an erotic preference that contents itself with worse porn than we do.
There’s some good footage from prehistoric times, but it’s not really porn. And the HD-stuff of nowadays doesn’t really tickle either, does it? Okay, it’s a world of difference in quality compared to the days of hazy super-8. And there’s stumps in abundance and in variety, which we obviously like. But that’s about it. In terms of sexually alluring content, most movie material for the devotee is downright boring, frustratingly so.

Obviously, we’re facing a recruitment issue that’s a tad more difficult than average. There’s probably tens of thousands of big chested women happy to show off what mother nature endowed them with, and then there’s the boob job for those who don’t initially qualify and would want to. Congenital cases excepted, an amputation is not naturally endowed, and it’s not even considered an endowment, rather the contrary, which makes chances zero that there’s gonna be women volunteering to qualify through achievements of the medical profession, as they do in the case of big breasts.
Practically, this comes down to our pool of potential models being necessarily limited to women who actually ran into a loss of one or more limbs. And that’s to start with. Then comes being okay with parading that in front of a camera, and as soon as we’re talking porn there’s a few obvious things more at that.
I don’t consider myself an expert of amputee porn, but as far as I know this combined set of conditions leaves us with one single example, that of Long Jeanne Silver, a porn actress from last century’s seventies who had a rather peculiar type of below the knee amputation. There’s a few examples of more enticingly – for my liking – amputated women bathing or showering nude on camera too, as there are amputee cam-models and amateur footage of amputees having sex. There’s of course amputee babe Brittney, who often goes nude and has done so in attractively teasing ways, such as adding voyeurist elements to enchanting us with her sexy, high leg amputation. But other than that, we suffer from pornographic anemia.

Do we have ourselves to blame? Can we do anything about it? For the sake of argument, my answer to both these questions will be yes.

Firstly, fact is that we’re not only a sad bunch. We’re also a secretive bunch. The average devotee enjoys his erotic preference in carefully hidden anonimity. Keeping our fascination for the amputated a closet fantasy thing will leave it remain controversial though, as well as subject to exploitation by business of dubious repute. And the more controversial it is regarded, the fewer amputees will feel inclined to model.
So, professing openly serves a multiple purpose. It may help yourself to come to terms with it, if necessary, as it may help increase societal acceptance. Erotic likings remaining within the crypts of secrecy will only give further way to whatever delusions society has of them, whereas ‘Fifty shades of grey‘ – whatever your opinion on its literary quality – will easily illustrate the huge effect of BDSM stepping into the limelight. Last but not least, increased public acceptance may stimulate those we’d gladly see pursuit a career as an amputee model.

Secondly, there’s the money issue. Everything has a price, making this a short one. Amputee women willing to do nude modelling are scarce and scarcity makes prices go up. So, if we want to see our erotic enjoyment fed by quality material, we’ll have to be prepared to pay for it.

Thirdly, there’s the artistic aspect. It’s related to the other two and we all have our examples of how it should not be. Also, this one is not in our own hands, not directly at least.
Despite quality of recording generally being good nowadays, most movies for the devotee excel in rueful film scenarios. True, this is not porn’s strongest point in general, and of course we all want proper attention paid to the details we enjoy. Yet our little market really beats everything when it comes to totally thin story lines, aimless model activity and sheer endless stump teasing without anything ever happening. We’re not expecting our thrill to come from cunningly constructed plots, so we’re not asking for professional scenario writers, no worries. At the same time, we do prefer to see our imagination being tickled, rather than feel it getting numbed by the often total purposelessness of what’s happening in the average dev video. It’s as much an insult to us as it’s a waste of scarce models.

What can we do about it? To start with, one heck of a consumer weapon is not buying. It’s a free market, so it’s your perfectly good right to help leave crappy supply without demand. At the same time, it’s not the same as making clear that it’s quality we want. Crap material not bringing in money will eventually make it disappear from the market, but we’re still some way from good stuff replacing it then.
For that, we need to articulate our wishes and help create a market for quality by showing ourselves willing to buy when those wishes are heard. It will increase revenues and hopefully – with public acceptance also dragging related business out of the dubious – it will increase revenues for the models as well, which will act as a stimulus.
I haven’t asked her, but I could well imagine a model like Brittney being willing to show in any tasteful attempt to an erotic amputee movie, provided she’s getting properly paid for it. Not having anything hardcore in mind here, just the quality type of tickling our imagination the right way.
On second thought: I will ask her. And if it would help to bring this any closer, I’ll volunteer to write a scenario and hereby declare myself willing to include any good idea readers of this blog will come up with.
For the sheer fun of it mostly, but trusting it will benefit the quality of dev porn.
